About Me
As a ceramicist I studied Applied Crafts in Cambridge for a foundation degree from 2013-2014, then I Graduated with a first class degree in BA Ceramics from the University for the Creative Arts Farnham from 2014-2017. I am currently on my Master degree of Ceramics in Plymouth College of Art. My works are engaged to contemporary aestheticism and modern industrial decadence. On the early stage of my ceramic studies I was mainly looking into the texture of natural decay and the connection to the emotional fact of humanity in the current society. However, with few years of experiences I had invented my own style from the minimalistic forms and erotic surfaces into a more sensitive expression which contains delicate details and feminine character. I adapt in slip casting, throwing and carving to create light, thin and tender quality. The philosophy of my work is personal and emotional, it delivers a sense of fragility which is poetic, romantic and bizarre. I also love to use my own experimental glazes and mixed materials to develop my results, so each piece of my work is individual and has its own story to tell. I am fascinated in the process of gathering inspirations from anthropic nature and historical culture, recalling memorial moments of our daily life, and discovering the isolated innocence from the chaotic modern social structure.
